Yankees' Aaron Judge a 'No-Brainer' for Baseball Hall of Fame, Aaron Boone Says
New York Yankees head coach Aaron Boone said that a spot for Aaron Judge in the Baseball Hall of Fame is a "no-brainer," after calling him "one of the greatest players" of his generation, per The Athletic's Brendan Kuty.
The 32-year-old Yankees star is leading the league early in the season with six home runs and 17 RBI after rounding out last season with his second-best 58 home runs and a career high of 144 RBI.
On Friday, Judge became the first player in MLB history with six home runs and 17 RBIs over the first seven games of the season. Judge’s seventh-inning homer was the 321st of his career, tying Babe Ruth’s total through his first 1,000 games with the Yankees.

Yankees third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera joined the conversation, calling Judge the G.O.A.T.
“He is the best,” Cabrera said, per Kuty. “There’s no more words than that. He’s the GOAT. He’s one of the best players ever and not just as a player, he’s one of the best (people) that we have. He deserves everything that happens to him.”
“You always try to stay present and not think too far ahead,” Cabrera said when asked if Judge is a Hall of Famer. “But thinking about Judgey — yes.”
In his 10th season, Judge says he still has more to accomplish before thinking about a spot in Cooperstown.
“I’ve got things to do,” Judge said on Friday. “I’ve got a lot of work to do. We’ll talk about that in a couple of years.”
