LeBron James, Luka Help Lakers Bounce Back vs. Pelicans as Austin Reaves Thrills Fans

The Los Angeles Lakers wrapped up a resurgent performance on Friday night, taking down the New Orleans Pelicans 124-108 at Crypto.com Arena.

After falling to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, Los Angeles responded in the second half of a back-to-back.

New Orleans took a seven-point lead in the first quarter of Friday's contest and led 42-37 early in the second, but the Lakers immediately responded with a 21-6 run to take a 10-point advantage.

The Pelicans pulled to within two points early in the third quarter, but they could never retake the lead before Los Angeles pushed its lead to as many as 17 points.

LeBron James scored 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting and dished out eight assists, hitting seven of his eight free-throw attempts.

Luka Dončić shot 47.6 percent from the field and finished with 35 points, six rebounds and six assists. He also shot 4-of-10 from three-point territory.

Meanwhile, Austin Reaves continued his strong play as of late. Reaves recorded at least 30 points for the fourth time over his past five games, scoring 30 points on 8-of-13 shooting while connecting on six triples.

The 26-year-old has now hit the second-most threes in a single season in Lakers history.

Fans and pundits were amazed by Reaves' performance.

The Lakers improved to 47-30 following the victory and are now a half-game up on the Denver Nuggets for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference standings.
