Deion Sanders Says Shedeur, Travis Hunter Are 'Surest Bets' in 2025 NFL Draft
University of Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders made his case Friday for quarterback Shedeur Sanders and cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter to be the top two picks in the 2025 NFL draft.
Speaking to the media at Colorado's pro day, Coach Prime called Shedeur and Hunter "the most qualified guys in the draft," before adding that they are the "surest bets."

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
In addition to Shedeur being Sanders' son, Sanders coached both Shedeur and Hunter at FCS Jackson State before they joined him for two highly productive seasons at Colorado.
The Buffaloes went just 4-8 in Sanders' first season at the helm, but Shedeur and Hunter put themselves firmly on the radar as big-time NFL prospects.
Last season, Colorado went 9-4, posting its best record since 2016, and the play of Shedeur and Hunter was among the biggest reasons.
Sanders completed 74.0 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, earning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors and finishing eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting.
Hunter thrived on both sides of the ball, making 96 catches for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns while also recording 36 tackles, four interceptions and 11 passes defended en route to winning the Heisman Trophy.
Sanders is widely regarded as the second-best quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft behind only Miami's Cam Ward, while Hunter is in the conversation as the best all-around player in the draft along with Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter.
In the B/R NFL Scouting Department's latest mock draft released this week, it was projected that Hunter will go third overall to the New York Giants and Sanders will go ninth overall to the New Orleans Saints.
Ward is seemingly the favorite to go first overall to the Titans, but it isn't outside the realm of possibility that both Sanders and Hunter could be top-three picks.
Along with the Tennessee Titans at No. 1 overall, the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 and Giants at No. 3 both have an obvious need at quarterback, which puts Sanders in play.
Meanwhile, any of the top-three teams that don't take a quarterback would undoubtedly be in the market for a player as versatile and talented as Hunter.
Regardless of the exact landing spot, both Sanders and Hunter are trending toward being early first-round picks, but their performance at the NFL level will ultimately be what proves Coach Prime either right or wrong.
