NBA Insiders Reportedly 'lower' on Jarred Vanderbilt's Trade Value Than Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers may have a different view on forward Jarred Vanderbilt than others around the NBA
Jovan Buha of The Athletic reported that the Lakers may not get the value they desire if they were to move Vanderbilt in the offseason and that a "gap" exists between the Lakers opinion of the 26-year-old and the rest of the league's perception.
"People outside of the Lakers seem to be lower on (Vanderbilt) than the Lakers are," Buha said around the 38-minute mark. "I think there is a little bit of a gap there in terms of how people perceive him and how the Lakers perceive him."
Vanderbilt has averaged four points, five assists and 1.2 assists in 31 games in 2024-25. He has only made two starts on the season and has served in a reserve role for the franchise.
Los Angeles is his fourth NBA franchise and he is in his third season with the team. He is under contract through 2026-27 with a player option for 2027-28. He currently makes $10.7 million this season.
The Lakers could look to flip him for a different need on the team but Buha's report shows that they would likely have to attach some other value in order to make a move that improves the team.
