The success of "Tweaker" landed Ball a lucrative recording contract with Def Jam and Universal Music Group in January. His first track under the Def Jam banner was "Can You Please" featuring GloRilla, released on March 7.
"Law N Order" was originally introduced by Ball, whose stage name is GELO, during his performance at Rolling Loud California on March 15.
This new song continues his tendency to evoke 2000s hip-hop songs, with Stereogum's Chris DeVille noting GELO's vocal stylings and ability to "swim" through a beat echoing "peak-era 50 Cent."
Ball's musical talent caught the attention of the NBA, which gave him a platform to perform "Tweaker" during All-Star Saturday night in San Francisco. The 26-year-old most recently played professional basketball for Astros de Jalisco in Mexico in 2024.
