Stephen Curry Scores 52, Thrills NBA Fans as Warriors Beat Grizzlies amid Playoff Race
Stephen Curry got hot early and never cooled down in a 134-125 win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.
The Golden State Warriors star dropped 52 points on a scorching hot 12-of-20 from deep, coming two three-pointers shy of matching Klay Thompson's record for threes in a single game.
Along with his scoring outburst, Curry hauled in 10 rebounds, dished out eight assists and recorded five steals, putting together one of the most impressive performances of the year.
The performance marked Curry's 15th career 50-point game of the season, and it led to plenty of hype from fans on social media.
Curry's magical performance came at the perfect time as Golden State looks to make a late run to avoid the play-in tournament.
With the win, the Warriors improved to 44-31 and leapfrogged the Grizzlies (44-32) for the No. 5 seed in the West. If they can string together a few more wins before the end of the year, they should be in good position to secure a top-six seed and avoid the play-in tournament.
Curry's performance on Tuesday should give Golden State plenty of momentum.
