Clint Capela Reportedly Expected to Leave Hawks in 2025 NBA Free Agency
Clint Capela's time with the Atlanta Hawks may be coming to a close soon.
Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the "expectation" around the league is that the 30-year-old will depart Atlanta in unrestricted free agency following the 2024-25 season.
"After being benched in favor of Onyeka Okongwu and dangled in trade talks before the deadline, the early expectation is Hawks center Clint Capela will sign elsewhere in unrestricted free agency this summer," Scotto wrote.

Capela has averaged 8.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 55 games for Atlant this season. He's made 41 starts, but the emergence of Okongwu has led to Capela seeing more time on the bench.
Despite a reduced role, Capela should still have a solid market in the offseason as teams look to shore up the center position.
While he may be elsewhere next season, Atlanta will hope he can contribute to the team's quest for a playoff berth. The Hawks are currently 35-38, good for seventh in the Eastern Conference. The team is 5.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the sixth seed, which would help the team avoid the play-in tournament.
