NFL Scout Says Giants 'Loving' Shedeur Sanders Is League's 'Worst-Kept Secret'
Despite recently signing veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency, the New York Giants reportedly aren't out of the running when it comes to selecting a signal-caller with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
According to ESPN's Matt Miller, an anonymous scout said the Giants had representatives in attendance for every Colorado Buffaloes home game last season, adding: "New York loving [Colorado quarterback] Shedeur [Sanders] is the worst-kept secret in the league right now."
Miller noted that if either Sanders or Miami quarterback Cam Ward fall to the Giants at No. 3, the Wilson and Winston signings likely won't preclude New York from taking one of them.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
ESPN's Jordan Reid reported that he has heard getting a young quarterback is still "at the top of the priority list," noting that signing Wilson and Winston was a way for the Giants to cover their bases rather than a sign of the position being placed on the back-burner in the draft.
Sanders, who is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback and current Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, is coming off two spectacular seasons with the Buffaloes.
After following his father from FCS Jackson State to Boulder, Sanders put up impressive numbers in 2023, completing 69.3 percent of his passes for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions.
However, the 23-year-old took a lot of sacks and Colorado finished just 4-8, so there was plenty left for him to prove in 2024.
The improvement in his second season was obvious, as Sanders completed 74.0 percent of his passing attempts for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 picks, and the Buffs went 9-4, which was their best record since 2016.
Sanders was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and finished eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting, plus he played a significant role in teammate Travis Hunter winning the award.
Given the Titans have been heavily linked to Ward and the Cleveland Browns could take a quarterback at No. 2 overall, it is possible Sanders won't even be on the board at No. 3.
If that happens, both Miller and Reid named Hunter as the most viable option for the Giants given he can play both cornerback and wide receiver, both of which are team needs.
New York would have to lean on Wilson and Winston as bridge quarterbacks in 2025 in that scenario, but it wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing for the organization, as it would leave it open to take a quarterback such as Texas' Arch Manning or Penn State's Drew Allar in the 2026 draft.
As for Sanders, the B/R NFL Scouting Department has him ranked as the No. 2 quarterback and No. 18 overall player in the 2025 draft.
Also, the department projected in its latest mock draft that Sanders will go second overall to the Browns after Ward goes to the Titans, leaving the Giants to take Hunter.
The unpredictable first round of the 2025 NFL draft is set for April 24 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
