Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper Top ESPN's 2025 NBA Draft Big Board Amid March Madness
Following the first weekend of the 2025 NCAA tournament, Duke star freshman Cooper Flagg continued his reign atop ESPN's NBA draft big board.
ESPN's Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo unveiled their latest rankings on Tuesday, with Flagg maintaining the No. 1 spot and Rutgers point guard Dylan Harper right behind him. The updated top 10 is as follows:
- Cooper Flagg, SF/PF, Duke | Age: 18.2
- Dylan Harper, PG/SG, Rutgers | Age: 19
- Ace Bailey, SG/SF, Rutgers | Age: 18.6
- VJ Edgecombe, SG, Baylor | Age: 19.6
- Tre Johnson, SG, Texas | Age: 19
- Kasparas Jakucionis, PG, Illinois | Age: 18.8
- Jeremiah Fears, PG, Oklahoma | Age: 18.4
- Khaman Maluach, C, Duke | Age: 18.5
- Kon Knueppel, SG/SF, Duke | Age: 19.6
- Derik Queen, C, Maryland | Age: 20.2
Flagg returned from an ankle injury that sidelined him for most of the ACC tournament and showed no signs of being hampered as he helped lead Duke to dominant wins over Mount St. Mary's and Baylor. He played a combined 51 minutes over the two games and produced totals of 32 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and three blocks.
The 18-year-old's performance on the big stage of March Madness impressed evaluators even more, with Givony listing him among the players who had their draft stock rise after this past weekend.
"Flagg showcased his high-level, two-way versatility and flashed his improvement as a shot creator," Givony stated. "He shouldered significant playmaking duties out of pick-and-roll, isolations, post-ups and pushing in the open floor, making passes all over the court and getting to the rim and finishing with both hands."
Harper's season is over after Rutgers failed to qualify for the NCAA tournament and chose not to accept an invitation to any other postseason tournament. Still, the youngest son of former NBA star Ron Harper is regarded as one of the most promising prospects in this year's draft class.
"Isn't he what everyone is looking for? An offensive orchestrator with size," a Western Conference general manager told Woo earlier this month about Harper. "An oversized handler surrounded with shooting and interior defense -- he's just so dynamic. You can build a successful offense around the guy."
All signs point to Flagg and Harper being the first two names called when the NBA draft commences on June 25.
