Warriors Rumors: Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green Relationship 'As Tight as Ever'
It's safe to say the Golden State Warriors have meshed well with forward Jimmy Butler.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, ESPN's Shams Charania revealed that Butler and Warriors forward Draymond Green are "as tight as ever" and that their personalities have not clashed.
"The Jimmy Butler entrance to this organization has changed everything," Charania said. "The question that I kept getting around the league was, 'Are him and Draymond Green going to get into fights?' That relationship, you are talking about two alphas, how are they going to get along, how are they going to coexist? Everything I hear, they are as tight as ever, they have bonded so much, and that's what is really going to drive that engine in Golden State."
Butler was dealt to Golden State after a tumultuous end to his tenure with the Miami Heat. He was selected to three All-NBA teams and led two runs to the Finals in Miami but was suspended by the team multiple times in 2024-25 before being sent to a struggling Warriors team.
Since the move, Golden State is 13-1 with Butler in the lineup and have risen to sixth place in the Western Conference. He has averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists since joining the franchise and could help the Warriors reopen their championship window.
Butler is under contract through 2026-27, and the early returns appear to be promising for Butler, Green and the Warriors.
