NBA Championship 2025 Odds: Thunder Favored Over Celtics, Cavs, Lakers, More

The Oklahoma City Thunder have overtaken the Boston Celtics as the betting favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook to win the 2025 NBA Finals.

The Thunder sit at +180, narrowly ahead of the Celtics at +185. The Cleveland Cavaliers have the third-best odds (+500) and then there's a wide gap before the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers are next at +1700.

The movement comes after Oklahoma City beat Boston 118-112 on the road at TD Garden on Wednesday.

Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander bolstered his MVP case by dropping 34 points, five rebounds and seven assists, while big man Chet Holmgren had 23 points and 15 rebounds. On the other side, Celtics star Jayson Tatum had 33 points, but he and teammate Jaylen Brown combined to shoot 4-of-19 from three-point range.

Oklahoma City is 1.5 games back of the Cavaliers for the NBA's best record, but it ranks first in net rating (plus-12.3 points per 100 possessions), per NBA.com. Mark Daigneault's squad has a compelling case to be considered the championship favorite this year.

The Celtics' odds, especially when juxtaposed against those of Cleveland, still point to how bettors believe Boston's past success and postseason experience will lift the reigning champions over the top.

The Cavs are 8.5 games better than the Celtics in the standings and have split their regular-season series. Most recently, Cleveland was a 123-116 winner in Boston on Feb. 28.

The current iteration of the Cavaliers hasn't advanced past the Eastern Conference semifinals, losing in five games to the Celtics last season.

In spite of how good Cleveland has looked, there's clearly some skepticism over how the team would fare in the conference finals or NBA Finals.
