McShay: Teams Like Shedeur Sanders 'A Lot' Despite 'Laissez-Faire' Combine Interviews
Opinions of Shedeur Sanders remain high around the NFL despite the Colorado quarterback failing to make a strong impression at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to The Ringer's Todd McShay.
The draft expert reported Thursday on The McShay Show he heard Sanders didn't have "the most professional interview," and the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year displayed a "laissez-faire, relaxed, chill" attitude.
McShay added that the vast majority of concerns with Sanders as a prospect stem from what he put on tape with the Buffs, rather than his combine interviews. In addition, talent evaluators broadly "like him a lot."

Sanders didn't work out at the combine, which isn't an unusual step for stars near the top of draft boards. But the intel on him from Indianapolis was less than ideal, and that added to the larger question of whether he could slip down the first round.
Sanders was the No. 16 overall player on Bleacher Report's 2025 big board prior to the combine and sits 18th in B/R's post-combine update. He's still the second-ranked quarterback behind Miami's Cam Ward and has a sizable lead on the third-best signal-caller (Ohio State's Will Howard, No. 54).
Quarterback is the most important position on the field and this year's draft class is so top-heavy in that area. With Sanders, the numbers speak for themselves, too. He threw for 7,364 yards and 64 touchdowns with a 160.4 passer rating and a 71.8 percent completion rate in his two years at Colorado.
Ultimately the current hand-wringing may have little bearing on where he ultimately lands in the draft.
