NFL QB Coach: Shedeur Sanders was 'Brash' and 'Arrogant' in Combine Interview

It appears that there are differing opinions regarding Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders coming out of the NFL Scouting Combine this past weekend.

NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that "a quarterbacks coach from a team drafting in the top seven" referred to Sanders "as coming off 'brash' and 'arrogant' in his team interview" and made his assessment "known to a number of people."

However, Anderson pointed out that this assessment was "the direct opposite from how Sanders came across to many reporters in his press conference with the media" during the combine.

Anderson also noted that she's heard from league sources that the QBs coach "seems to have issue with 'the culture' of athletes who have broad fame and financial success before entering the NFL." Those same sources added that their opinion is that the coach "appears to them to have a problem certain athletes." Anderson added that the coach "is also not in favor of getting" Sanders, but "there are other folks in the building who vehemently disagree with that assessment."

On Sunday, Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda reported that "teams are cooling on Shedeur Sanders for a number of reasons," stating that some believe he "showed little to no improvement in his game last season and made some poor choices," while others are "also a little turned off by his antics since January." Sanders' decision not to participate in passing drills at the Shrine Bowl was cited as one instance that evaluators viewed negatively.

Sanders also lived up to his family name by showing infinite confidence while speaking with reporters at the combine. The son of Hall-of-Famer Deion Sanders boldly proclaimed, "There should be no question why a franchise should pick me."

Sanders chose not to throw at the combine, so he will surely be motivated to silence his detractors when he participates in Colorado's pro day later this month. It remains to be seen if the chatter surrounding him affects his stock before next month's draft.
