Video: Bills' Keon Coleman Says Teams Were Mad He Wanted to Eat Snacks at 2024 Combine
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman said Friday that an NFL team took issue with him eating fruit snacks at the NFL Scouting Combine last year.
During an appearance on Carmelo Anthony's 7PM in Brooklyn podcast (h/t SI.com's Eva Geitheim), Coleman recalled the experience, saying: "Teams mad I'm eating fruit snacks. I'm like, 'I'm hungry.' I'm listening, can I grab a little fruit snacks every now and then? Y'all got all the snacks in here. That's just for show? ... If you ain't gonna draft me over some fruit snacks!"

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
While Coleman missed out on being a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the former Florida State standout didn't have to wait long to hear his name called on Day 2, as the Bills took him with the first pick of the second round at No. 33 overall.
When asked which team reacted negatively to him wanting some snacks at the combine, Coleman didn't give a specific answer, but he did say it was "the biggest opps."
From the Bills' perspective, that could refer to an AFC East opponent such as the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets or New England Patriots, or the Kansas City Chiefs, who have eliminated them from the playoffs in four of the past five seasons.
The 21-year-old Coleman instantly endeared himself to Bills fans during his first press conference after getting drafted, as his comments and antics elicited plenty of laughs.
Fittingly, Coleman headed straight for the snack table after speaking to the media and grabbed a cookie:
The 6'4", 215-pound wideout also did some good things on the field during his debut season, finishing with 29 receptions for 556 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games.
Coleman was second on the team in both receiving yardage and receiving touchdowns, and he led all Bills pass-catchers who had two or more receptions with a 19.2 yards-per-catch average.
He played a significant role in Bills quarterback Josh Allen being named NFL MVP for the first time in his career as well.
The Bills will undoubtedly expect Coleman to take a big step forward in his second season in 2025, as Buffalo looks to get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl after falling to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game last season.
