Warriors' Stephen Curry Saluted by NBA Fans for Scoring 25K Career Points
Stephen Curry reached the 25,000-point milestone on Saturday night in true Curry fashion—on a three-pointer.
The guard caught the ball at the three-point line off a pass from Jimmy Butler and stepped into the shot over Detroit's Malik Beasley and Jalen Duren.
Fans saluted the 36-year-old in the arena and on social media after he reached the 25K-point milestone:
Curry is just the 26th player in NBA history to reach the milestone, joining legends like Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among others.
At the time of the milestone, Curry had 17 points, two rebounds and three assists on 5-of-12 shooting from the field and 3-of-9 from beyond the arc in 21 minutes on the floor.
Curry reached 25,000 points in 1,011 games—spanning 16 seasons, all with Golden State—backed by a season average of 24.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 40.1 percent from three-point range.
Curry is among the top five fastest guards to reach 25,000 points, trailing Michael Jordan (782 games), Oscar Robertson (917 games), Jerry West (920 games) and Kobe Bryant (990 games).
In addition to the milestone, Curry is closing in on another. He entered Saturday's matchup against the Detroit Pistons 11 three-pointers shy of becoming the first player in NBA history to reach 4,000 career makes.
The Warrior previously became the all-time leader in three-pointers made on Dec. 14, 2021, after he hit his 2,974th career triple to break Ray Allen's record. He has also led the league in total 3-pointers made during eight of his 16 seasons, including a record of 402 triples in 2015-16.
As he continues to break records and reach milestones, the Warriors sit in sixth place in the Western Conference
