Adrian Wojnarowski's iPhones Used to Break NBA News Sell for $12.7K at Auction

Former NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski's days of breaking news are long behind him, and his devices that helped him deliver his patented "Woj Bombs" are now a thing of the past as well.

Per Will Stern of cllct, Wojnarowski’s auction of the four iPhones he used to break NBA news combined for a sale of $12,700 at the closing on Tuesday night. The proceeds from the auction will go toward benefitting the St. Bonaventure men's basketball program, where Wojnarowski is now the general manager.

The iPhone that Wojnarowski used to break the news of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard joining forces and going to the Los Angeles Clippers topped the sale list at $5,000. The iPhone that he used to report the NBA's announcement that it was suspending the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic garnered $3,250, and the one he used during the 2023 NBA draft went for $2,700. Finally, the iPhone he used during his final NBA draft in 2024 and to post his "farewell" tweet sold for $1,750.

The auction also included some of Wojnarowski's old press credentials, and the top-selling item was his 2024 NBA draft credential, which sold for $1,400.

The auction was conducted by Daps Bounty, and founder Jake Klores told Stern that there were also over 500 offers for personal experiences with Wojnarowski such as video calls and dinners.

"My favorite part of this collection has been reading through some of the countless incredibly thoughtful notes users took the time to write about Woj in the optional 'additional information' field, while placing an offer," Klores said. "He means a great deal to so many fans throughout the world, and we can’t wait to get these iconic items in the hands of a lucky few."
