Video: Kyrie Irving Would've Been 'Pissed' If He Missed Free Throws After Knee Injury
Kyrie Irving doesn't see a torn ACL as an excuse to miss a free throw.
Irving said he would have been "pissed" if he had missed the free throws he took Monday against the Sacramento Kings after suffering a season-ending left knee injury.
"I think that the greatest gift that I got, that I gave to myself, was going to that free throw line and hitting both free throws," Irving said Tuesday on Instagram Live (h/t The Smoking Cuban's Noah Weber.)

Irving continued: "If I didn't make those free throws, I would've been pissed all year. You guys have no idea. Like, I would have been pissed. So I'm glad, and grateful, that I was resilient enough, and strong enough, to go up there and make my free throws. Because I know that meant something, not only for me, but for all those out there that were worried."
Kings forward DeMar DeRozan was assessed a foul on the play that injured Irving.
Irving, who had to be helped to the foul line, was in visible pain as he made both of his free throws before exiting Monday's game.
The Mavericks ended up suffering a 122-98 loss to the Kings and, more importantly, losing Irving for the rest of the season.
With trade deadline acquisition Anthony Davis also sidelined by injury and Luka Dončić traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Mavericks may potentially have to face the challenge of holding onto the last play-in spot in the West without their top players on the court.
