NFL Rumors: 49ers Open to Trade Talks on 'Just About Anyone' amid Brandon Aiyuk Buzz
The San Francisco 49ers could be undergoing some major changes this offseason.
"I think that the 49ers and their particular financial situation are open to listening on just about anybody," ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday's The Pat McAfee Show when asked if the team might field offers for wideout Brandon Aiyuk. "Just about anybody. If there's a team out there that is willing to take on the Aiyuk contract—with him coming off the torn ACL—I'm sure they would listen. Absolutely."

The Niners already traded Deebo Samuel and his $17.5 million salary in 2025 to the Washington Commanders for a fifth-round pick, which was expected. With Brock Purdy likely to sign a massive extension this offseason and Aiyuk signed to a four-year, $120 million deal last offseason, Samuel was deemed expendable.
Could Aiyuk follow suit?
It seems unlikely, given there is uncertainty about how he'll recover from a torn ACL, which could limit outside interest. It would also leave Purdy without his favorite target on the outside, putting additional pressure on tight end George Kittle, running back Christian McCaffrey and receivers Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall to produce in a big way.
The Niners are a bounce-back candidate after an injury-plagued 2024 season, but they also need to get younger in general.
Nonetheless, it seems unlikely that will ultimately result in an Aiyuk trade.
