Quinn Ewers Says He's The Best QB in 2025 NFL Draft over Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders
Quinn Ewers likely doesn't sit atop any draft boards, at least among those created by pundits and analysts, but that doesn't mean much to the former Texas star.
"I think I'm the best [in the class] and the most ready for the NFL because of what I've been through," Ewers told SI.com's Albert Breer at the NFL Scouting Combine over the weekend.
"I think I'm the most ready for the situations that occur in the NFL, injuries, playing through injuries, having a big name behind you, continuing to play through that amount of pressure, continuing to be confident after being benched—it's hard to do," he added. "I wouldn't trade anything I've done, skipping my senior year [of high school] to go to Ohio State, wouldn't trade that for anything, because I learned so much about not only myself but the game of football. I matured a lot. Not to say I was immature, but I'm much more mature because of that. And then all the injuries I had to deal with and come back from, I wouldn’t trade it. ... It's the reality of the position. Stuff's gonna go wrong. And I have a plan of attack for pretty much any situation that can arise."

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
In three years as the starter at Texas, Ewers threw for 9,128 yards, 68 touchdowns and 24 interceptions, completing 64.9 percent of his passes. He led the Longhorns to a pair of College Football Playoff appearances.
His final season offered ups and downs, however. He set a career-high in touchdown passes (31) but also in interceptions (12) and was hampered by an oblique injury and high-ankle sprain during the campaign.
As for how he's viewed in comparison to other quarterbacks in this year's draft class, the B/R NFL Scouting Department had him ranked as the No. 7 quarterback available—behind Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Will Howard, Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe and Kyle McCord—and No. 100 player overall on its February big board.
NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, meanwhile, didn't have him listed on his big board of the top 50 players, while Ward was ranked No. 10, Sanders came in at No. 15 and Dart was No. 42.
And The Athletic's Dane Brugler didn't have Ewers in his top-100 big board, though Ward (No. 15), Sanders (No. 25), Dart (No. 57), Tyler Shough (No. 59), Milroe (No. 61) and Howard (No. 84) all made the list.
Those big boards were compiled before the combine, however, and Ewers seemed to impress during his time in Indianapolis:
He also had plenty of interest from teams at the combine:
It's possible that Ewers will end up going higher than many draft analysts were initially expecting, in other words. The 21-year-old certainly feels as though he should.
