Myles Garrett Trade Rumors: NFL Insiders 'Skeptical' of Browns' Stance on Dealing Star
The Cleveland Browns are holding firm in not trading star defensive end Myles Garrett for now, but some insiders reportedly don't buy into their stance.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported some around the league are "skeptical" that Cleveland doesn't want to trade Garrett, "suggesting the Browns should capitalize on the multiple first-round picks available to them in order to move on."
Fowler noted that teams who have proposed trades for Garrett have received an "emphatic" no. He also reported that there have been few trade offers to this point "in part because teams know it makes no sense to trade him."

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
If traded before June 1, Garrett's cup number for 2025 would move to $19.7 million with a dead-money charge of $36.2 million while a trade after June 1 gives Cleveland the option to spread the dead-money charge across two seasons.
Since Garrett requested a trade in February, the Browns have been vocal about not wanting to part ways with him. In January, general manager Andrew Berry said heย wouldn't consider tradingย Garrett even if the Browns were offered multiple first-round draft picks.
At the NFL Scouting Combine this week, Cleveland head coachย Kevin Stefanski saidย "I expect" Garrett to be with the team next year, adding that the star is "part of the present" and "part of the future" of the franchise.
It's understandable why the Browns want to avoid trading Garrett considering he's a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate. The former No. 1 overall pick has recorded double-digit sacks in each of the last seven years, including 14 sacks in 2024.
As much as Cleveland wants to keep him, it seems Garrett has no interest in remaining with the team.ย Mary Kay Cabotย of Cleveland.com reported earlier this week that Garrett is "not open" to an extension with the Browns and has "slammed the door shut on negotiations."
If and when the Browns decide to grant Garrett's trade request, they should have plenty of suitors, one of which is the defending champion. The Athletic'sย Dianna Russiniย reported Saturday that Philadelphia's interest in Garrett is "real."
For now, the Eagles and other teams will likely have to wait to trade for Garrett, but it seems more likely than not that he'll eventually be available for deals.
