Jalen Milroe at 2025 NFL Combine: Measurements, Highlights and Reaction
Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe raised some eyebrows Saturday at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, and it wasn't because of his on-field performance.
Just one month after his hands measured in at 8¾ inches at the Senior Bowl, Milroe's hand size increased to 9⅜ inches at the combine, according to the NFL's Next Gen Stats.

Milroe's height came in at the same 6'1½" and his weight dropped from 220 pounds to 217 pounds, but his hand size discrepancy is what had people talking.
Entering the combine, Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders seemed firmly established as the top two quarterbacks in the draft, leaving Milroe to battle several others for the No. 3 spot.
Milroe's hand measurement compared favorably to Ward and Sanders, as his hand is larger than Ward's and the same size as Sanders', per NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah:
Based on the bizarre nature of Milroe's hand size going from below average to above average for an NFL quarterback over the course of a month, there was plenty of humorous reaction on social media:
Like many of the quarterbacks at the 2025 combine, Milroe did not partake in any athletic testing, instead opting to focus on the throwing drills.
Milroe, 22, spent four seasons at Alabama, including two full campaigns as the starter, posting a 21-6 record.
In 2023, Milroe completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 2,834 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions, while also rushing for 531 yards and 12 scores.
He followed that up last season by completing 64.3 percent of his passing attempts for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 picks. He also provided huge production with his legs, rushing for 726 yards and 20 scores.
In the most recent big board released by the BR NFL Scouting Department last month, Milroe was ranked as the No. 77 overall player and No. 5 quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft behind Ward, Sanders, Ohio State's Will Howard and Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart.
While questions remain regarding Milroe's arm and accuracy, he is perhaps the top dual-threat quarterback in the draft, and his mobility is something that should translate to the next level.
Milroe is not expected to be a first-round pick, but he has a chance to be the first quarterback taken after Ward and Sanders, and he could prove to be a steal if he can put all of his skills together.
