NFL Rumors: Giants 'Team to Watch' in Trade Talks for Titans' No. 1 Overall Draft Pick
The New York Giants could be eyeing a trade up in the 2025 NFL Draft after missing out on Matthew Stafford.
The Giants are a "team to watch on multiple fronts as they try to find an answer under center," The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported Saturday.
Russini added that there has been "interest from teams wanting to move into the top overall spot" currently held by the Tennessee Titans.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added that the Titans"need a little more time" before they decide if they want to keep the pick.
The Los Angeles Rams announced Friday they had agreed to restructured contract terms with Stafford, taking a top Giants target off the market. General manager Joe Schoen has expressed interest in acquiring both a rookie and veteran quarterback this offseason.
"Even if you get a young quarterback, you'd like to have a vet in the room with them to show them the ropes and how to be a pro," Schoen said last week at the combine, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
The Giants have accordingly discussed pursuing Aaron Rodgers after losing hope of trading for Stafford. Russini reported Friday the team had been discussing adding Rodgers "all week in Indy" during the scouting combine.
The Giants were on track to earn the No. 1 pick after splitting from Daniel Jones last season, to the point that prospective first-round pick Shedeur Sanders wore Giants-themed cleats to a bowl game after claiming his shoes would reveal where he was going with the top pick.
But a Week 17 win over the Indianapolis Colts dropped the franchise to No. 3 behind the Titans and Cleveland Browns in the draft order.
Rapoport reported on Feb. 9 the Titans believed "all options are on the table, including possibly trading the pick."
Two weeks later, KOA Colorado reporter Benjamin Allbright hinted at the possibility of the Giants pursuing the pick:
The Giants could potentially be in a position to trade up given the value of the No. 3 pick and the lack of a clear top prospect in the 2025 draft.
Raanan recently estimated the value of the No. 1 pick as "No. 3 and a mid-third-round pick," but noted that trading up for a quarterback would increase that price.
In addition to the third pick, the Giants hold one of the earliest Day 2 selection spots at No. 34. Schoen could potentially offer both as part of a deal to move up to the top slot.
As Russini put it, however, the Giants may need to "outbid others" to get the No. 1 pick. The Raiders were also reportedly interested in Stafford and could offer more capital in order to trade up from No. 6.
The last time the Titans held the No. 1 pick was in 2016. The franchise ended up swapping the selection with the Los Angeles Rams in a trade involving nine picks. The Rams drafted Jared Goff, while the Titans snagged Derrick Henry with one of the picks.
Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi has 54 more days to decide whether to keep or move the 2025 top pick before the draft kicks off in Green Bay this April.
