DK Metcalf Trade Rumors: 'No Contact or Negotiations' Between Packers, Seahawks on WR

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Metcalf is a year out from free agency. His age (27) and the soaring receiver market likely have the Seahawks contemplating his long-term value to the franchise. Spotrac pegs his value at $25.5 million annually.
Seattle is also $7.1 million over the salary cap for 2025. Trading Metcalf prior to June 1 would save $10.9 million and give general manager John Schneider a nice draft pick or two that could bring in young, cost-controlled talent.
From the Packers' side, Metcalf would be a massive upgrade to the receiving corps. One way or the other, Green Bay needs to improve at the position because it can't open next season with Jayden Reed or Romeo Doubs as the No. 1 wideout.
Occasionally, there's some room for interpretation when conflicting reports about a story emerge.
That isn't the case with Schneidman saying the Packers and Seahawks haven't spoken about Metcalf. It would've been one thing if he had reported the teams were only in the preliminary stages and hadn't exchanged firm trade offers.
Maybe Metcalf winds up in Green Bay after all. For now, nothing sounds imminent—far from it.
