Luka Doncic on 3-Point Shooting Slump Since Lakers Trade: 'It's a Big Challenge'
Luka Dončić is looking forward to the challenge that comes in breaking his shooting slump.
The Los Angeles Lakers acquired Dončić on Feb. 2 and the star guard has had some shooting difficulties since coming over. He is 11-for-43 from three-point range since the trade and was 1-for-9 in Thursday's 111-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Following Thursday's game, Dončić spoke about the "challenge" the slump has given him and that he is excited to conquer it.
"You have got to go through a lot of downs to get to the highest point," Dončić told reporters. "It's a big challenge for me, just getting back into my rhythm and making those easier shots for me. It's a big challenge for me and I look forward to it."
Since being dealt to Los Angeles, Dončić has averaged 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in five games. While these numbers are down from his normal lofty totals, he has still made a strong impact on a Lakers team that is currently 36-21 and sits in fourth in the Western Conference.
When Dončić returns to form, his partnership with LeBron James will make the Lakers a formidible force within the Western Conference.
