Travis Hunter Won't Participate in Drills at 2025 NFL Combine; B/R's No. 1 Prospect
Another standout from the 2025 NFL draft class is bowing out from the workout portion of the scouting combine.
An official from the NFL confirmed to the Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson that Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter isn't doing any drills in Indianapolis.
Hunter is the No. 1 overall player on Bleacher Report's 2025 big board and he went fifth to the Jacksonville Jaguars in B/R's most recent mock draft.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Star players opting out from the physical portions of the combine is nothing new, and the trend seems to be increasing.
"Every NFL team probably wouldn't want to say it, but they realized (during the pandemic), 'Hey, maybe the draft process, especially for top-tier guys, isn't really that important,'" said Eric Galko, the director of operations for the East-West Shrine Bowl, in an interview with The Athletic's Jayna Bardahl. "A lot of the on-field stuff can be a little bit, in my opinion, superfluous for some players who donโt want to show too much."
Especially for a prospect as highly regarded as Hunter, there isn't anything he can do at the combine to help himself. His talent is readily apparent to anyone who watched him suit up for the Buffaloes over the last few years.
Hunter's insistence on remaining a two-way player also eliminates one way in which the combine could've provided a little more insight. If he had worked out exclusively as a wide receiver or cornerback, then that would've pointed to where he'd be lining up out of the gate as a rookie.
Instead, he's making sure not to box himself in.
From an entertainment standpoint, fans will be disappointed that Hunter isn't showcasing his skills in Indianapolis. It probably won't carry any consequences for him, though.
