Ahead of the start of the NFL Scouting Combine on Wednesday, NFL.com's Bucky Brooks unveiled his latest 2025 mock draft and made an interesting prediction for the top of the order.
Brooks projected the top two quarterbacks in the class to be selected back-to-back, with Miami's Cam Ward going to the Cleveland Browns with the No. 2 pick and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders being taken by the New York Giants at No. 3.

The Browns are facing uncertainty at the quarterback position after Deshaun Watson re-ruptured his torn Achilles last month, which would potentially force him to miss the entire 2025 season. Brooks stated that selecting Ward would give the Browns "an athletic gunslinger to help them bounce back from a horrendous 2024 campaign."
The Giants moved on from quarterback Daniel Jones just over midway through last season, leaving a void that they could look to fill in this year's draft. While describing Sanders, Brooks stated, "There is not a quarterback more prepared to deal with the bright lights and intense spotlight that comes with being the Giants’ QB1." Sanders' experience playing in a pro-style system makes him a natural fit for New York head coach Brian Daboll's offense.
Sanders already opted out of the throwing drills at the scouting combine this week, and NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that Ward remains undecided about his participation.
Still, it's apparent that both signal-callers are expected to have bright futures in the NFL, and they could turn around whichever franchises that draft them.
