NFL Exec: Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders Wouldn't be Drafted Over the 6 QBs from 2024
The 2025 NFL draft class isn't strong at the quarterback position, with Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders projected as the only locks to be selected in the first round.
However, ESPN's Matt Miller spoke to a league executive who thinks the quarterbacks in this year's class, including Ward and Sanders, are a level below the six signal-callers selected in the first round of the 2024 draft.
"There isn't a single guy this year you'd take over the six drafted [in the first round] last year," an AFC scouting director told Miller.

Despite the overall lack of first-round talent among this year's quarterback prospects, Miller added that scouts "like the depth at the position." One scout told Miller that "he likes this group better than 2021," which saw five quarterbacks selected in the first round, including each of the top three picks.
The NFL Scouting Combine is set to begin this week, so quarterbacks who participate in the workouts will have the chance to improve their draft stock and potentially break into the first round.
