Aaron Rodgers, DeShon Elliott Take Photo After Steelers DB's 'Retirement Home' Post

Julia StumbaughFeb 19, 2025

Aaron Rodgers and DeShon Elliott were seen posing together in a photo shared one week after Elliott responded negatively to an Instagram post linking Rodgers to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Elliott's Feb. 11 Instagram comment urged the Steelers to "Leave his ass at the retirement home."

Proactive Sports, a California-based workout and conditioning program, shared a photo one week later of the pair, captioned: "Who retires first?"

It was not immediately clear when the photo was taken. Elliott reposted the image on a story set to the Jeopardy theme music:

The Steelers have yet to commit to a starting quarterback for the 2025 season.

Steelers owner Art Rooney II previously said the team would prefer to bring back one, but not both, of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac recently reported there is a "split decision internally" as to which quarterback to re-sign.

That opening under center has led to rumors that the Steelers could turn to Rodgers following his split from the New York Jets.

If Pittsburgh re-signs the younger Fields, it seems likely Rodgers could be headed elsewhere if he decides to return for a 21st NFL season in 2025.
