Mac McClung: NBA Slam Dunk Contest 'Deserves' Ja Morant, Aaron Gordon, Zach LaVine

Mac McClung has heard the NBA stars talk about their desire to participate in the Slam Dunk Contest next year, and he's all for it.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, McClung said the Dunk Contest "deserves" players like Ja Morant, Aaron Gordon and Zach LaVine taking part.

"It excites me for the contest," McClung explained. "I love the contest, and I think it deserves those guys, and it's such a beautiful weekend. I love to see those guys out there."

McClung has generated a lot of buzz in the Dunk Contest over the past three years. He's provided an energy and excitement to the event, in addition to displaying tremendous creativity to win it three consecutive times.

In the midst of McClung's victory in the 2025 Dunk Contest, several top stars posted on social media they would like to take part in the event.

If McClung's run of three straight wins actually inspires players like Morant, Gordon and LaVine to partake next year, great. But for now, fans will be in wait-and-see mode.
