Wimbledon 2015 Results: Monday Scores, Updated All England Club Draw Predictions

Serena Williams can breathe easier now.

Playing her older sister Venus Williams is always stressful for her, and she had two full days to think about the confrontation following her third-round victory Friday over Great Britain's Heather Watson.

Serena survived her battle against her sibling, recording a 6-4, 6-3 victory. While the win came in straight sets, Venus pushed Serena quite hard until the final three games of the second set.

"It definitely doesn't get easier," Serena told Stephen Wilson of the Associated Press. "But today I was out there and I just thought, 'Wow, I'm 33, and she just turned 35, I don't know how many more moments like this we'll have.'"

Serena's power—as it often is—was the difference in this match. She had 10 aces, compared to two for Venus, and she more than doubled Venus in winners as she recorded 36 of them, compared to 15 for her sister.

One of Serena's great strengths is her ability to return serve. She won 50 percent of the points that Venus served, and that enabled her to take the key games in both sets. Venus won just 13 of 48 points (27 percent) when Serena served.

Williams will be joined in the quarterfinals by two other American women, Coco Vandeweghe and Madison Keys. The unseeded Vandeweghe defeated Lucie Safarova 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (7-4). Keys, seeded 21st, dropped the first set before coming back to claim a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Olga Govortsova.

While the top-seeded Williams had a relatively easy time against her sister, men's No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic barely stayed alive and that may only be the result of darkness intervening in his match against Kevin Anderson of South Africa.

While most expected Djokovic to come away with another one-sided victory, Anderson won the first two sets in tiebreakers. That left Djokovic scrambling to return to form, and he did that in winning the third and fourth sets by 6-1 and 6-4 margins. The two men will finish their match Tuesday.

Anderson put on a remarkable serving exhibition during the four sets, registering 32 aces to Djokovic's 10. However, Djokovic won 70 percent of the points on his second serve, while Anderson lost 57 percent of the points on his second serve.

Gotta think postponement helps Anderson. Momentum was all with Djokovic. Cilic, who faces winner on Tuesday, also a big winner. #Wimbledon

No. 2 seed Roger Federer had no problem reaching the quarterfinals. While Djokovic and Anderson battled more than three hours in playing four sets, Federer needed less than 90 minutes to defeat Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 6-2, 6-3.

Federer, who would like to claim his eighth Wimbledon crown, won 92 percent of the points when he was successful at putting his first serve in play. Agut could only manage to win 58 percent of the points when he was successful at getting his first serve in.

Additionally, Federer registered 38 winners and had 12 unforced errors. Agut had 14 winners and made 18 unforced mistakes.

Andy Murray had a difficult assignment against the brutish serves of Ivo Karlovic, and the third-seeded Brit came through with a 7-6 (9-7), 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 triumph.

Karlovic fired 29 aces in the match, but Murray still managed to win 45 of 140 points when receiving. Murray had a difficult time converting break points in the match, as he succeeded on only two of 12 opportunities.

French Open champion Stan Wawrinka is not always at his best on the grass courts of the All England Club, but the fourth-seeded Swiss player defeated 16th-seeded David Goffin 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (9-7), 6-4.

Wawrinka fired 44 winners to Goffin's 17, but he also had some sloppy play. Wawrinka was charged with 41 unforced errors in the three-set match, and he will have to clean that up if he is going to advance past the round of 16.

Maria Sharapova is quietly having an excellent tournament. The fourth-seeded Russian has not lost a set at Wimbledon, and she put away Zarina Diyas by a 6-4, 6-4 margin.

It seems like nearly all the attention has been on Serena Williams as she tries to complete here "Serena Slam," but Sharpaova's sharp and accurate play has allowed her to mow down her first four opponents.

Tuesday's Matches

Novak Djokovic vs. Kevin Anderson

Djokovic and Anderson will return to the court for the fifth and decisive set of their suspended match. While Djokovic had the momentum after winning the third and fourth sets, that may no longer be the case Tuesday.

Anderson knows that his booming serve is a huge weapon, and if he can get one quick break, he could win the match by holding serve. However, Djokovic will have a full night to prepare, and it is unlikely he will let this opportunity slip through his grasp.

Look for Djokovic to take advantage of this second chance and win the fifth set and the match.

Prediction: Djokovic, 6-7, 6-7, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4

Garbine Muguruza (20) vs. Timea Bacsinszky (15)

Muguruza has to be playing with quite a bit of confidence after disposing of Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets. Muguruza won 23 of 28 points when she came to the net, and that is one of her strengths.

Bacsinszky was pushed to the limit by Monica Niculescu in taking three sets to record her victory. Bacsinszky was quite aggressive throughout her match, but she was also sloppy with 38 unforced errors. That may hurt her in the quarterfinals.

Prediction: Mugurza, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3

Maria Sharapova (3) vs. Coco Vandeweghe

Sharapova may be somewhat under the radar at Wimbledon this year, but she has played superb tennis, rolling to four consecutive victories without losing a set. Sharapova is not a huge hitter, but she has been razor sharp throughout the fortnight.

Vandeweghe defeated Lucie Safarova by a 7-6, 7-6 margin, and she should be ready to play her best match here. However, she is unseeded and has never been past the third round in any Grand Slam tournament prior to this fine showing.

The bubble bursts here.

Prediction: Sharapova, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1

Serena Williams (1) vs. Victoria Azarenka (23)

Williams got a severe test from Heather Watson in the third round and then had to play her sister in the fourth. That's always a difficult assignment, but she survived and is three matches away from winning Wimbledon. Williams is not going to fall short in this match.

Azarenka is a battler who impressively defeated Belinda Bencic 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals. Azarenka had a 29-8 winners-to-unforced errors ratio, and that's why she has advanced to the quarterfinals. However, she simply does not have the power to compete with Serena.

Even if Azarenka plays her best tennis, she falls short here.

Prediction: Williams, 7-5, 6-2

American Madison Keys

Madison Keys (21) vs. Agnieszka Radwanska (13)

Keys, 20, is an improving player who made it to the semifinals of the Australian Open and the third round at the French Open. She is coached by three-time Grand Slam champion Lindsay Davenport, and she has become quite aggressive. Keys came from behind to defeat Olga Govortsova in three sets, and she fired 30 winners to her opponent's 13

Radwanska was a Wimbledon runner-up in 2012, and she is coming off a straight-set win over Jelena Jankovic. Radwanska just may be a bit more polished, and that could help her in this important match.

Prediction: Radwanska, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5
