Suns' Kevin Durant Discusses NBA Future, Retirement: 'I Don't See An End Right Now'
Kevin Durant is 36 years old and likely in the twilight of his career, though he's still enjoying the ride.
"I think about it all the time," Durant told ESPN (around 2:40 mark in video) of his playing future. "I mean, we're in a young man's game. I hear about my age every day. But I'm still having fun preparing for games, preparing for practices, being a teammate, I still enjoy all that stuff. I don't see an end right now, but it could happen, it could not. But I'm just locked in on the next day."

As for whether the trade rumors that surrounded Durant ahead of the NBA trade deadline would impact his future in Phoenix, the superstar forward said he was never interested in going anywhere else.
"You gotta ask the front office about that. I mean, I never planned on leaving, moving, or getting traded," he told ESPN. "I didn't ask for a trade from Phoenix."
The Suns (26-28) have struggled this season despite the star trio of Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, and the team clearly explored ways to shake things up. Once it became apparent that Beal's no-trade clause and prohibitive contract were going to make him basically impossible to move, the Durant rumors started in earnest.
It's hard to imagine the Suns really wanted to break up the Durant and Booker duo, however. The former has shown little signs of slowing down, averaging a team-high 27.3 points per game to go along with six rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per contest. While injuries have cost him 13 games already this season, he's been fantastic when available.
The Suns may have to make some major changes this offseason if they can't turn things around, however. That could mean Durant's future is ultimately elsewhere. Either way, it seems as though he still has a number of years left in the tank.
