Dak Prescott Says Cowboys Must Be 'More Consistent' in Run Game amid Jeanty Buzz
The Dallas Cowboys rushed for just 100.3 yards per game in the 2024 season, 27th in the NFL, and quarterback Dak Prescott is hoping to see the team establish more of a ground attack under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
"We just got to get to running the ball, being a little bit more consistent on that," he told reporters. "Then from there go back and look at the numbers. I've always enjoyed play-action pass or just being able to get back to that, but you've got to start with the run game, and when you have that, the rest of the offense can open up."

One area where the team could look to upgrade is at the running back position itself, especially after choosing against signing Derrick Henry last offseason. While Rico Dowdle rushed for 1,079 yards and two scores, Ezekiel Elliott looked washed in his return to Dallas.
The team has been a popular pick to select Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty in the first round across various mock drafts, so perhaps help will be coming. Either way, Prescott believes improvement in the rushing attack is needed.
