Anthony Edwards Discusses Learning from LeBron, Durant, Steph Curry at 2024 Olympics
Anthony Edwards had the unique opportunity to play on the same team as a handful of NBA legends this summer when Team USA won gold at the Paris Olympics.
The Minnesota Timberwolves star, who is in his fifth season but still just 23 years old, competed alongside LeBron James, Stephen Curry and his favorite player of all time, Kevin Durant.
Edwards said that from observing the three greats, who have 10 NBA championships between them, his biggest takeaway was their ability to stay "locked in" no matter the circumstances.
“I think the biggest thing I learned from all three of them is they don't change their routine no matter what's going on in their day," Edwards told Complex's Mike DeStefano. Especially Steph and LeBron, whatever they do on every game day, they doing that. Every time. I work out. But watching them, it's like, ‘Okay, I got to really lock in for real.’ They really be locked in.”
Edwards had a breakout season a year ago when he led his team to the Western Conference Finals, and he's been even better statistically this season. After shaking off a slow start to the year, Edwards is putting up 27.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
He's been especially good as of late, scoring 49, 41 and 44 points in his last three outings, respectively.
The summer working with James, Curry, Durant and a handful of other veterans seemed to have paid dividends for Edwards. Now, he's looking to cement his spot in NBA history alongside the basketball legends.
