Report: Jimmy Garoppolo, Rams Agree to $11M Contract After Matthew Stafford's Return
Jimmy Garoppolo is reportedly running it back with the Los Angeles Rams.
The veteran quarterback agreed to a one-year deal with the team on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"Garoppolo was generating interest from other teams but, like Matthew Stafford, opted to return to Los Angeles," Schefter wrote.

Biggest Questions Surrounding 2026 NFL Season After the Draft 🤔
Dianna Russini of The Athletic noted the contract was for $11 million.
Stafford recently agreed to a revised contract to remain with the team.
Garoppolo, 33, spent the 2024 season serving as Stafford's backup in Los Angeles. He appeared in just one game for the team, throwing for 334 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a Week 18 loss to the Seattle Seahawks while taking three sacks.
After leaving the San Francisco 49ers following the 2022 season, with Brock Purdy emerging as the franchise quarterback, Garoppolo had cups of coffee with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023 and the Rams last season. He appeared in six games for the Raiders that season, going 3-3 with 1,205 yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions.
It was likely his last shot at being a starting quarterback.
Garoppolo opened his career as the backup quarterback behind Tom Brady with the New England Patriots, where he resided for three seasons before the Niners traded for him in 2017. In parts of six seasons with the team he posted a 38-17 record, threw for 82 touchdowns and 42 interceptions and led the team to a pair of playoff appearances, which included the Super Bowl in the 2019 season.
Garoppolo has always been more in the mold of a game manager, so he isn't the sexiest addition, but he's a solid option as the backup quarterback for the Rams behind Stafford.
