Peru's solid defence and consistent performances made them rare favourites going into the match, and they coped with the added pressure admirably.
La Blanquirroja began the brighter of the two, with Guerrero showing intent early on as he fired just over the bar after cutting inside from the left.
FCB writer Cristian Nyari was impressed with his performance:
Bolivia, who conceded five goals in their final group match against Chile, looked nervous in defence and almost fell behind on 16 minutes. Goalkeeper Romel Quinonez failed to catch an incoming corner, and Bolivia were forced to clear the ball off the line before Claudio Pizarro hit one over the bar.
Peru continued to exert pressure on their opponents, so it was no surprise when Guerrero broke the deadlock after 20 minutes.
The 31-year-old made no mistake when he leapt to meet Juan Manuel Vargas' dangerous cross:
Just minutes later, Guerrero had his brace when he added a composed finish to Christian Cueva's exquisite aerial through ball:
Los Incas almost made it three inside the first half, with Jefferson Farfan twice hitting the woodwork.
First, Farfan saw a strike hit the outside of the post before the forward crashed a free-kick onto the crossbar minutes before half-time.
Bolivia improved somewhat after the break and enjoyed more possession and a rare chance, but Pedro Gallese was more than a match for Marcelo Moreno's headed effort.
Peru always looked comfortable, though, and they put the result beyond any doubt when Guerrero scored his second hat-trick in Peru's red and white.
Danny Bejarano gifted the veteran the ball inside his own half on 74 minutes, leaving Guerrero to bear down on goal and slot home to claim the match ball:
Luis Advincula's foul on Damian Lizio earned Bolivia a penalty late on. Moreno duly converted the spot-kick, but it was far too late to spark a comeback.
La Blanquirroja will face Chile in the semi-final.
Chile's impressive displays and star power from the likes of Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez will rightly make them the favourites for the clash, but Peru are deserved semi-finalists and have been strong at both ends of the field.
Chile will likely edge to victory over their old rivals, but expect a close and exciting encounter with goals on both sides.
