Peru 3, Bolivia 1
Bolivia's Cinderella run came to an end in the quarter-finals of the Copa America in a 3-1 defeat against Peru and their hat-trick hero Paolo Guerrero.
Peru were the quicker to start, as Bolivian goalkeeper Romel Quinonez was called into action a few times in the game's first 10 minutes.
Off a corner in the 16th minute, Peru almost had the lead when Quinonez missed the cross, but it was cleared off the line by Miguel Hurtado. Claudio Pizarro sent a shot high just moments later.
Four minutes later, Peru had their opener and it was Guerrero who scored it, converting a cross from Juan Manuel Vargas.
Three minutes later, Guerrero got his second of the match, being sent through by Christian Cueva against Quinonez and converting.
Jefferson Farfan hit the post in the 37th minute from a tough angle shot that beat Quinonez, who struggled plenty during the first half. Frustration for Farfan continued right at the stroke of half-time when he saw his shot hit the crossbar.
Bolivia started gaining some attacking confidence through the play of Marcelo Moreno. He had a header saved easily in the 57th minute. But Peru were still maintaining their stronghold on much of the match.
Guerrero tallied his hat-trick in the 74th minute to book Peru's spot in the semi-finals. His third came off of a turnover that set him in on Quinonez yet again.
A penalty was awarded to Bolivia in the 83rd minute, but Moreno's goal was nothing but consolation for them.
Peru attempted 27 shots compared to Bolivia's nine despite possession being close to even for most of the match. Los Incas will be taking on Chile in the final four.
