UK Back Pages: Manchester United Tell Barcelona to Back Off Angel Di Maria

Sean SwabyJun 24, 2015

Angel Di Maria, Manchester United's £59.7 million prized transfer capture in 2014, is back front and centre in the transfer rumours again.

With rumours swirling that Barcelona are watching the Argentine star closely, Manchester United have told the Catalan giants to "back off" of Di Maria.

At least that's the message in Star Sport.

The paper also relays a rumour that Liverpool are in for Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne.

The Di Maria rumour, in part, originates from Sun Sport, where Lionel Messi has apparently urged Barcelona to pursue his Argentine team-mate in the national setup.

Express Sport instead decided to focus on the failings of the England U21 side, as the Three Lions were knocked out of the European Championship after a disappointing 3-1 loss to Italy.
