Jack Grealish Photos Spark Investigation, Statement by Aston Villa

Rory MarsdenJun 15, 2015

Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has been pictured seemingly passed out and lying on a roadside while on holiday on the Spanish island of Tenerife.

The 19-year-old midfielder had a breakout season for Villa in 2014-15 as they avoided relegation and made it to the FA Cup final before being beaten by Arsenal.

Grealish seems to have been celebrating with some gusto while holidaying in the Canary Islands, if photographs uploaded by Briony King are anything to go by:

The England-born winger looked to distance himself from the photos, posting on his own Twitter feed just hours later:

However, Villa have deemed it necessary to make a comment on the incident, releasing a statement confirming they will meet with the player, per the club's website: "The club is aware of the photographs of Jack Grealish currently circulating. We will be meeting with the player but any action will remain an internal matter. There will be no further comment from the club."

It is surely unlikely that he will receive any sanction from the club as, while unflattering and irresponsible, the photographs do not depict Grealish doing anything illegal.

As indicated by the Daily Telegraph's Matt Law, Grealish is not the first person to end up a little worse for wear while on holiday:

He seems to have become the latest victim of modern technology and the overwhelming effectiveness of social media.
