Manchester United Legends vs. Bayern Munich All-Stars: Score, Report, Highlights
Manchester United's legends relived one of the club's greatest moments on Sunday, as they beat a team of Bayern Munich all-stars 4-2 at Old Trafford in a charity match.
The tie was a second-leg encounter—after the Red Devils had previously drawn 3-3 in Munich—giving Bryan Robson's team a 7-5 victory on aggregate and the Legends Cup.
Robson announced his side just before kick-off as fans enjoyed the opening ceremony. United provided the details on social media:

United's old boys started the game in fine fettle, with the returning Frenchman Louis Saha opening the scoring early on. However, the Germans were allowed back into the game from the most unlikely of sources—a Paul Scholes mistake.
The Ginger Wizard's casual pass back to Edwin van der Sar was intercepted by Alexander Zickler, who finished with aplomb.
The Red Devils resumed the lead six minutes from the break after a typically flowing United move. Scholes helped feed in Quinton Fortune on the right, and his chipped cross was met by the head of Ji-Sung Park and eventually bundled over the line by Dwight Yorke.

But with the Old Trafford team barely finishing their celebrations, Bayern immediately achieved parity, as Michael Tarnat saw his low free-kick go under the United wall and past the flailing Van der Sar.
However, United fans were not disappointed for long, as their team regained the lead once more through Andrew Cole. Excellent work from Phil Neville, Jesper Blomqvist and Park was rewarded, as the former England striker tucked his effort away to make it 3-2 at half-time.
Football bloggers Daniel Burdett and Sam Peoples captured the key highlights from the first half:
United had much of the early possession in the second half, but the aging legs of both sides were starting to show. But it was Bayern who had the best chance to score on the hour mark. A free-kick rattled Van der Sar's crossbar and Zickler could only head over, when it was easier to equalise.
VdS was replaced by Dutch compatriot Raimond van der Gouw to rapturous applause, and the substitute was immediate called into action, forced to make a flying save.
Cole then made way for Andy Richie after suffering a calf injury, as Robson shuffled the pack for the final 20 minutes.

With the score standing at 6-5 on aggregate, the game took on a more competitive edge as the Germans looked to equalise and United attempted to bury the tie.
Richie had two guilt-edged opportunities to wrap up the fixture for United, but the 54-year-old couldn't take his chances. Scholes was replaced by Russell Beardsmore in the final 10 minutes, with the legendary midfielder clearly out of energy, as the tempo of the match remained high.
Van der Gouw was again called into action to stop the Germans with a great save, and United finally got the goal they wanted as Blomqvist slid in at the far post to score his side's fourth after excellent work on the right by sub Karel Poborsky.

Richie once again missed a glorious opportunity to make it five on the night, but the referee blew his whistle for full time to give the Red Devils the win.
The occasion was a wonderful affair for fans of both teams watching the match, with a surprisingly competitive air between the two teams.
Bayern's side were happy to sit and counter, but United played close to their Sir Alex Ferguson roots, often marauding forward in the style of the 1999 treble-winning side.
But the real winner was the Manchester United Foundation, which will benefit from the funds raised on the day.
