Christopher SimpsonJun 15, 2015

Argentina will be looking to get their 2015 Copa America campaign back on track, when they take on Uruguay in the second round of Group B fixtures.

Argentina threw away a 2-0 lead against Paraguay in their opening game to draw 2-2.

Uruguay, meanwhile, currently sit atop the group, thanks to their uninspiring 1-0 win over Jamaica.

With Paraguay likely to triumph over Jamaica, Argentina desperately need to claim three points when they take on defending champions Uruguay.

La Albiceleste were two goals to the good and cruising, thanks to Sergio Aguero's predatory opener and a Lionel Messi penalty.

However, Nelson Valdez's stunning long-range effort (see below) brought Paraguay back into the game, and they were deservedly rewarded with an equaliser in injury time through Lucas Barrios.

The Guardian's Jonathan Wilson was not impressed by Argentina or Gerardo Martino's tactics:

Martino admitted after the match that he was concerned by the team's performance. Per Reuters' Javier Leiva and Gideon Long (via Yahoo Sport/Eurosport), he said: "What worries me most are the two extremes that the team played at."

Per Goal.com, he added: "We must review what we did wrong. We did not play the full game like we did in the first half. We lost control of the game."

Martino was not happy with his side's second-half display.

Uruguay also failed to impress against Jamaica, but ensured they collected all three points, when Cristian Rodriguez tapped home from close range shortly after half-time.

La Celeste are without talismanic striker Luis Suarez, who is still serving his international ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup in 2014.

Suarez's absence could prove the decisive factor in what's likely to be a narrow contest.

Jun 24, 2014; Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, BRAZIL; Uruguay forward Luis Suarez (9) sits on the ground checking his mouth after he allegedly bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini (3) during the second half of Uruguay's 1-0 win over Italy in a 2014 World Cup

His incredible dynamism and incisive forward runs would have caused Argentina's defenders a lot of problems, but without him Uruguay don't possess the same ability to penetrate their opponents' back line.

Edinson Cavani will be a threat, but the striker failed to make an impact against the lesser opposition of Jamaica.

Expect a hard-fought contest, with Messi and his team-mates coming out ahead.

Prediction: Argentina 2-1 Uruguay
