Copa America Results 2015: Group Tables, Schedule Post-Argentina vs. Paraguay
The 2015 Copa America had yet to really entertain after its first two days. With Chile's 2-0 victory over Ecuador in less-than-convincing fashion followed by a goalless draw between Mexico and Bolivia, the tournament was in need of a high-octane match.
With the defending champions Uruguay taking on Jamaica and Argentina playing Paraguay, that trend looked set to change Saturday as Group B action got underway.
Below is the updated table and a look at Saturday's exciting affairs.

Uruguay 1, Jamaica 0
The reigning champions did not look well to start their opening match. Against a Jamaica side that was invited to play in the tournament, it was the Caribbean side that had the Uruguayans on their back heels.
Jamaica's Simon Dawkins had the first real chance 39 minutes in when he brought down an entry ball quite nicely, but he hit his shot well wide.
Uruguay responded well after that. Striker Edinson Cavani willed his side despite being unable to take a pair of chances from dangerous situations.
After a goalless first half, Uruguay found the winner seven minutes into the second when a free kick from Nicolas Lodeiro was headed by Jose Gimenez and converted by Cristian Rodriguez with a left-footed strike. It was certainly a long time coming, according to ESPN Stats & Info:
Uruguay were able to thwart any other Jamaican chances, though the challengers provided an admirable showing. Christian Stuani had an opportunity to double Uruguay's lead in the final minute, but he bounced his volley over the goal.
Jamaican midfielder Garath McCleary shared his thoughts on the loss after the game:
Uruguay take the top spot in Group B after their win.
Argentina 2, Paraguay 2
It was a quick start for Argentina, who showed a menacing style of play, constantly threatening the Paraguayan goal. With three corners within the game's first 10 minutes, Argentina established play in Paraguay's end quickly, and there was no way out for the defenders.
Javier Mascherano almost put Argentina in front in the 18th minute when a shot from 20 yards out deflected off Lionel Messi and went wide.
Argentina took the lead through Sergio Aguero, who was gifted a back pass from Paraguay's Miguel Samudio. Aguero simply rounded the keeper and slotted an easy chance in the 29th minute.
Messi began to take the game by storm, marauding on those ever-so-famous runs. He sent in Angel Di Maria, who was brought down in the box for a penalty in the 34th minute. Messi stepped up and converted his penalty in the bottom right corner for a 2-0 lead.
The second half began with much of the same as Argentina played circles around Paraguay, who could only exert physical play to try to make an impression on the match.
They began going on the offensive via the counterattack, and from out of nowhere in the 60th minute, Nelson Valdez sent a 25-yard screamer past Sergio Romero, who was untested for the game's first hour.
Messi almost made it 3-1 three minutes later, weaving through three defenders but pulling his left-footed shot wide. That miss proved to be costly.
Paraguay narrowly missed an equalizer in the 73rd minute when Derlis Gonzalez's header went inches wide. Argentina's defense was broken, and Paraguay began exploiting that, but the second goal was not coming.
Finally in the 90th minute, Lucas Barrios was at the right place at the right time on a free kick, sending home a half-volley to give Paraguay an unlikely point.
Carlos Tevez came inches from giving Argentina a winner, but his header went wide in the 94th minute. Afterward, ESPN FC's Sam Kelly had this to say about the match:
Argentina sit two points behind Uruguay in Group B.
