Brazil vs. Spain: Date, Time, Live Stream for 2015 Women's Soccer World Cup
Brazil will be hoping to secure their spot in the knockout stages of the Women’s World Cup when they face Spain in Montreal.
The Selecao were too good for Korea Republic in their tournament opener, coasting to a comfortable 2-0 win. But against La Roja, they’re likely to have their title-winning credentials tested further; Ignacio Quereda’s side will have been disappointed to have only drawn their opener 1-1 with Costa Rica, though.
With plenty of stellar attacking talent on show, this will be an encounter to savour. Here’s all the information you need on where to catch the action and a closer look at each side’s chances.
Date: Saturday, June 13
Where: The Olympic Stadium, Montreal
Time: 4 p.m. (local and ET)/9 p.m. (BST)

Record-Breaking Marta Looking to Inspire Brazil

Much of the talk coming into this tournament was when, not if, Brazil’s inspirational forward Marta would surpass Birgit Prinz’s World Cup goalscoring record. In the end it took her just 53 minutes of the Selecao’s opener, slotting home a penalty to make it 2-0 after Formiga had given the South Americans a 1-0 lead.
As noted by Infostrada Sports, the goal moved the 29-year-old alongside another Brazilian legend:
Of course, Marta and her team-mates will have eyes on a bigger prize in Canada and will be aware they need to up their game.
They were functional rather than fluid against Korea Republic, and while that’s fine in the early exchanges of a tournament, expect a little more verve from this outfit when they tackle the Spanish.

It’s not all about Marta either. Formiga showcased her experience with a classy display in a nervous opening game, as Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated noted here:
The 37-year-old has long been the heartbeat of Vadao’s side, pulling the strings with a real swagger in the middle of the park. She may not have the dynamism she once possessed earlier in her career, but as was evident against Korea Republic, what’s now missing in industry is supplemented by serene acuity.
Spain will fancy their chances of springing an upset, though. They were on top for long spells against Costa Rica without finding a goal to go 2-1 ahead; with a little more care in the attacking third, La Roja could potentially be a major force at this competition.

As noted by Josh Jackman of the Jewish Chronicle, the Spanish were actually rather unlucky not to have taken all three points from their clash with the Ticos:
The biggest threat for Spain will be Veronica Boquete. An attacking midfielder who is very much in the Andres Iniesta mould, the 28-year-old possesses a heavenly touch, a surging change of pace and an eye for a killer pass.

There were plenty of her silky, slaloming runs in the clash against Costa Rica, too, as noted by Howler Magazine:
The Montreal crowd should be set for a footballing feast when these two square off. Both teams boast an array of enthralling attacking talent, and while neither were at their very best in their first games, the space likely to be created by the offensive instincts of each team will provide an ample platform for intricate talents to flourish.
Goals have been the order of the day at this World Cup so far; expect another high-scoring encounter in this one but for the attacking quality possessed by the two teams to eventually cancel each other out.
Prediction: Brazil 2-2 Spain
