Brazil and Argentina Lead the Way
Brazil and Argentina, the two favourites for the 2015 Copa America, both have 2014 losses to make up for in Chile.
Germany humiliated the Selecao as they beat them 7-1 in their home World Cup last summer, while Argentina lost to manager Joachim Low's side in the final.
Redemption will very much be the watchword for both sides. They certainly have the potential to win it and could well meet in the final in Santiago.
Argentina will be led, of course, by the inimitable Lionel Messi, whose form for Barcelona of late has arguably been the best of his career.
He is not the only star in the Argentinian team, though, who have strength throughout the squad, with Ezequiel Garay and Nicolas Otamendi adding steel to the centre of defence.
Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe provides a likely starting XI:
Brazil have their own Barcelona star in Neymar, whose absence in the infamous 7-1 semi-final drubbing was key.
Far less experienced than Messi but similarly talismanic at international level, Neymar's fitness will be vital if Brazil are to make a run for the trophy.
A recalled Robinho will join him in attack, while Atletico Madrid's Miranda could be essential in creating stability in defence, so often a problem for Brazil at the World Cup.
Coach Dunga seemingly favours the Atleti man over Thiago Silva in the centre-back position, per world football writer Rupert Fryer:
The third member of Barca's extraordinary attacking trident will not be present in Chile, as Luis Suarez is still serving his ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini at last year's World Cup.
As noted by Spanish football writer Sid Lowe, Suarez's absence is a blow not only for the tournament but also for Uruguay's hopes of mounting a successful defence:
However, there is set to be plenty of attacking flair on show, even without the former Liverpool man, per Oddschecker:
Hosts Chile should have genuine designs of going all the way in their home tournament this summer, led by Arsenal's top performer in 2014-15, Alexis Sanchez.
Similarly, after a fantastic showing in Brazil last year, Colombia can be confident of going far at the Copa America—James Rodriguez, Carlos Bacca and Jackson Martinez just three of the stars in a top-quality side.
The 2015 Copa America is set to be a stunning tournament packed with top players from across South America.
The potential is there for either Brazil or Argentina to redeem themselves after 2014's woes, but it will be far from plain sailing with several brilliant teams set to challenge.
