Rob BlanchetteJun 6, 2015

Barcelona romped to the treble as they completed their quest for silverware, beating Juventus to win the Champions League in Berlin.

Goals from Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Neymar were enough to give the Blaugrana a 3-1 win at the Olympiastadion, sealing a historic season for the Camp Nou giants.

Luis Enrique congratulated his troops on their dramatic haul of titles, as quoted by Barca's official Twitter account:

The manager celebrated with glee with his triumphant players and was lofted onto their shoulders as they paraded the famous trophy:

Barca icon Andres Iniesta also spoke of his pride in his team's triumph as the club lifted its fifth Champions League title.

The midfielder commented how his side had proved many of their doubters wrong:

Former Liverpool striker Suarez, who grabbed the vital second goal, was emotional after a hugely successful first year in Spain.

The controversial Uruguayan spoke about the "suffering" he and his team-mates have been through in order to win the treble, per BBC Sport:

"

It's incredible, it's something unique. To win these trophies you have to suffer. I think after the equaliser they pushed on a little more, but we have players who made the difference. We have gone from game-to-game and achieved all our objectives. The best thing about this side is the spirit and the fact we've been united since the start of the season.

BERLIN, GERMANY - JUNE 06: Luis Suarez and Daniel Alves of Barcelona celebrate with team mates after the goal scored by Ivan Rakitic during the UEFA Champions League Final between Juventus and FC Barcelona at Olympiastadion on June 6, 2015 in Berlin, Ger

Barca started the night in explosive fashion as midfielder Rakitic opened the scoring in the opening minutes after a sweeping move.

But the Spaniards failed to break down the Italians again before the break, giving Juve plenty of hope for the second half of the match.

And the Old Lady took their chance in the 55th minute as a saved Carlos Tevez shot was converted by former Real Madrid man Alvaro Morata to make it 1-1.

However, the Catalan team once again wrested the lead back into their hands after Suarez reacted fastest in the box to slam the ball past Gianluigi Buffon.

And the game was finally put to bed deep into injury time as Neymar finished with aplomb to seal the win.

Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu also spoke after the victory in Germany, per Barca's Twitter account:

BBC Match of the Day's Gary Lineker took a different tact and paid homage to one of the Juve players at full-time, highlighting the class and dignity of Andrea Pirlo:

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri had few words after the game—but journalist Don Schiavone quoted the coach making a humorous soundbite:

Earlier in the campaign, this tidal wave of success for Barca and Enrique looked unlikely—and it is to their credit they have seen the job through in the past few weeks.

The signing of Suarez has now been fully justified, and this team will believe they can go on to consistent and sustained glory.

It was only at Christmas many thought Enrique would soon be dismissed, but the Camp Nou coach has proved all of his doubters wrong in an emphatic fashion.
