Jalen Hurts to Alabama: Crimson Tide Land 4-Star QB Prospect
Nick Saban already snagged Blake Barnett to headline his 2015 recruiting class at quarterback. No one has ever accused the Alabama Crimson Tide head coach of resting on his laurels, and he found the QB to carry his 2016 class: Jalen Hurts.
The Elite 11 Twitter account confirmed the 4-star dual-threat quarterback is headed to Tuscaloosa and provided a statement from the player:

Hurts followed that up with this tweet:
According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Hurts is the ninth-best dual-threat QB in the country and No. 278 overall in 2016. The Tide's class ranked seventh nationally before his arrival.
Andrew Bone of Rivals.com felt Hurts was Alabama's top quarterback priority:
"ROLLTIDE ....
— Jalen Hurts (@JalenHurts) June 6, 2015"
Like most mobile passers, Hurts can become reliant on his speed and athleticism to try to make something out nothing. His accuracy also suffers when he tries to throw on the move.
Of course, he's a great fit for Alabama's offense as it transitions to more of a spread. Offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin definitely brought a new style to the Crimson Tide, and securing the commitment of Hurts ensures the school will have a signal-caller who can thrive in the system down the line.
