Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend

Ryan BaileyJun 7, 2015

The 2015 Champions League Final may have been one of the most entertaining in years, but none of its four goals make our latest weekend golazo ranking.

Instead, we feature superb efforts from an eclectic range of competitions, including the Women's World Cup, the U20 World Cup, the MLS, the Danish top flight and a host of international friendlies.

The best two goals of the weekend, however, came from the Argentine Primera Division...

9. Radja Nainggolan (Belgium) vs. France

1 of 9

France suffered a 4-3 home defeat at the hands of Belgium on Sunday afternoon, thanks to goals from Marouane Fellaini, Radja Nainggolan and Eden Hazard

Roma midfielder Nainggolan made it 3-0 after 50 minutes with a lovely strike across Hugo Lloris' goal.

8. Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto) vs. DC United

2 of 9

Sebastian Giovinco scored both goals in Toronto's 2-1 win at DC United on Saturday, the second of which was an impressive long-range effort.

The goal is also noteworthy for Jozy Altidore's slick dummy that fed the Italian the ball.

7. Andrija Zivkovic (Serbia U20) vs. Mexico U20

3 of 9

Serbia qualified for the knockout stages of the U20 World Cup on Friday evening with a 2-0 win over Mexico.

Partizan Belgrade winger Andrija Zivkovic put the Europeans two up a few minutes before half-time with an absolutely wonderful free-kick that brushed the bar on its way to the net.

6. Lieke Martens (Netherlands) vs. New Zealand

4 of 9

The 2015 Women's World Cup kicked off on Saturday, with hosts Canada beating China, 1-0, and the Netherlands enjoying the same scoreline against New Zealand.

The Dutch goal was a thing of beauty from Lieke Martens, who struck a superb 25-yard drive in the 33rd minute.

5. Philippe Coutinho (Brazil) vs. Mexico

5 of 9

Philippe Coutinho didn't participate in Brazil's ill-fated 2014 World Cup campaign, but he helped ensure he is a fixture in manager Dunga's future plans with a sublime goal in the Selecao's 2-0 friendly victory over Mexico on Sunday.

The Liverpool star turned his man on the edge of the box and proceeded to slot home from an incredibly tight angle to open the scoring in the 28th minute.

4. Teo Tala (FC Viitorul) vs. ARD Snagov

6 of 9

Teo Tala is a name you may be hearing a lot more of in the coming years.

The prodigious No. 10 was playing in a Romanian youth tournament on Friday for his side, FC Viitorul, and scored the kind of solo golazo that Lionel Messi would be proud of.

The outrageous goal helped Viitorul defeat rivals ARD Snagov, 5-0.

3. Mateo Kovacic (Croatia) vs. Gibraltar

7 of 9

Croatia beat UEFA whipping boys Gibraltar, 4-0, on Sunday, and the show was well and truly stolen by Mateo Kovacic, who turned in an outrageous backheel lob to make it 2-0.

No wonder the Internazionale midfielder is on Liverpool's radar, according to The Express' Ben Jefferson.

2. Adrian Bastia (Atletico Rafaela) vs. Nueva Chicago

8 of 9

Nueva Chicago remained in bottom of the Argentine Premier League on Sunday thanks to a 2-0 loss at Atletico Rafaela.

The home side's opener was a 28th-minute screamer from Adrian Bastia. Few goalkeepers in the world would have been able to keep his 30-yard "bobby dazzler" out of the net.

Maximiliano Velazquez (Lanus) vs. Temperley

9 of 9

Elsewhere in the Argentine Primera Division, Saturday's bout between Lanus and Temperley was goalless until the 48th minute when something spectacular happened.

Lanus' Victor Ayala took a corner, which Maximiliano Velazquez proceeded to volley into the top left corner for an Argentine Goal of the Season contender.

101 Great Goals note that this was the defender's first goal in two years.
