Juventus vs. Barcelona: Simulating 2015 Champions League Final Using FIFA 15

No fixture in football will capture the imagination like Juventus' Champions League final against Barcelona on Saturday. Except, of course, a virtual version simmed on FIFA 15.

What does EA Sports' game have in common with an octopus, a miniature donkey and pair of macaws? All can play the role of Nostradamus when it comes to predicting football results. Research shows an Xbox One version of FIFA 15 is somewhere between 0.9 percent and seven percent accurate when correcting just what will go down inside 90 minutes.

With this science in mind, it's time to fire up the game and head to Berlin.

Team news is correct as of 6 p.m. BST on Friday, so that means no Giorgio Chiellini, as reported by Juve's official website (h/t Sky Sports). Despite a recent calf problem, the Press Association (h/t ESPN FC) suggests Andres Iniesta will feature in the encounter, so he starts.

Other than that, Sam Tighe's helpful starting XI breakdown was used to choose the formations and lineups.

Just for clarity's sake, Juventus subbed in Fernando Llorente, Roberto Pereyra and Kingsley Coman for Alvaro Morata, Paul Pogba and Carlos Tevez respectively. Barca replaced Iniesta with Xavi Hernandez, and Pedro for Jordi Alba during the match.

So...who was expecting that? A thoroughly one-sided affair in which Juve dominated midfield and played surprisingly attacking football. Manager Massimiliano Allegri will be hoping the real match follows suit on Saturday night.

A Juve win would be an upset, make no mistake about it, but Juve destroying Barca in this manner would be one of football's greatest-ever performances. Got a quid spare? You know what to do.
