Mexico vs. Uruguay: Date, Time and Live Stream for U-20 World Cup 2015

James DudkoJun 1, 2015

Mexico will hope to recover from a shocking 2-0 setback against Mali when they take on Uruguay at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. While the junior Aztecs were being stunned, the South Americans began their tournament with a narrow win over Serbia, courtesy of a goal from mercurial midfield ace Gaston Pereiro.

Mexico's team selection could well be affected by the two red cards received in their dire opening match. That's bad news for a squad that really needs to be at full strength to see off a talented Uruguay team.

Here are the relevant schedule and viewing details for this Group D clash:

As CONCACAF under-20 champions, Mexico are expected to be a powerful contender at this tournament. But an almost team-wide loss of discipline derailed their chances against Mali.

Atletico Madrid forward Diego Gama was sent to the changing room early. He was soon followed by Oscar Bernal, according to AFP (h/t Yahoo Sports).

Despite also seeing a player receive red, Mali soon made their numerical advantage count. It was Barcelona's gifted young winger Adama Traore who nudged a deft header over the line to give his nation a lead it would never relinquish.

If they are going to recover quickly, Mexico will have to control midfield. But that won't be easy against a Uruguay team that doesn't just count Pereiro as a star in the middle.

West Ham United's Diego Poyet is also a schemer to watch. The 20-year-old is a loping runner who covers ground well and possesses excellent technique.

A contingent of talented playmakers will look to supply precocious, pocket-edition forward Franco Acosta with chances. The 19-year-old Villarreal prospect bagged four goals for his country at the U-17 World Cup in the UAE in 2013. His pace and instincts could certainly cause a host of problems.

For Mexico, Pachuca duo Hirving Lozano and Erick Gutierrez represent their main attacking threat with Gama set to miss out. The pair have been identified as players to watch by ESPN writer Cesar Hernandez. They are key to the quick and intricate combinations Mexico love to produce.

Winger Lozano is a particularly keen attacking talent. Still just 19, his pace, intelligent movement and close control make him a constant menace from the flanks or ghosting through the middle.

Lozano is a key attacking outlet from wide areas for Mexico.

Freeing Lozano in space will be a key for Mexico, but the greater concern will be approaching the game in a more professional manner than they did against Mali. Manager Sergio Almaguer has called on his young players to keep their cool, per an AP report (h/t ESPN FC): "We need to critically analyze what happened in this game. As a team, we need to play with a bit more intelligence and focus."

With plenty of attacking talent on display, and Mexico having to chase the game, expect goals here. However, Uruguay's own talent means a scoring stalemate is the most likely outcome.
