Sami Khedira has insisted he's been "frozen out" at Real Madrid. The Germany international claims he's been hurt to the "bottom of my soul" by the Primera Liga club's actions.

Khedira, who's out of contract this summer and widely tipped to leave the club on a free transfer, vented his frustration during an interview with Spanish publicationย Marcaย (h/t theย Guardian).

Khedira has been wounded by allegations he's simply been marking time ahead of his inevitable exit in the summer. The 28-year-old addressed those suggestions directly while stressing this isn't the way he wanted his career with Los Blancos to end:ย "Itโ€™s not the end that I wanted. It hurts that Iโ€™m accused of a lack of professionalism because Iโ€™ve always put the team ahead of myself."

Khedira also expressed that while he was confident of manager Carlo Ancelotti's backing, so-called "indirect messages" have left him feeling unwanted and unused. Ancelotti has instead relied on the likes of Lucas Silva andย Asier Illarramendi and has even taken to playing centre-back Sergio Ramos in midfield ahead of Khedira.

But the player, who was speaking ahead of Los Merengues' final Liga game of the season, against Getafe, won't be short of suitors.

Metro'sย George Bellshaw indicates that Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United, along with Bundesliga duo Bayern Munich and Schalke 04, are keen onย Khedira, who used Instagram to confirm his impending Real Madrid departure.

A powerful, tough-tackling, box-to-box workhorse with an eye for goal, Khedira could certainly add a lot to any team. He should also be motivated to be an instant success in new surroundings after being subjected to what he sees as rough treatment in the Spanish capital.
