Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors: Live Score and Analysis for Game 1

Matthew SchmidtMay 19, 2015

Stephen Curry scored 34 points, Shaun Livingston added 18 off the bench and the Golden State Warriors rallied to defeat the Houston Rockets, 110-106, at Oracle Arena on Tuesday night to take a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals.

This game was not easy for the Warriors.

The Rockets got off to a great start, taking a 49-33 lead in the second quarter. They were getting into the paint at will and abusing Golden State on the pick-and-roll.

But, as they seem to always do, the Warriors fought back.

Golden State ended the half on a 25-6 run to take a 58-55 lead into the locker room.

The contest was tight the rest of the way.

Things got tougher for Houston when Dwight Howard left the game in the third quarter thanks to a knee bruise he suffered in the first half.

James Harden was up to the task, scoring 28 points and putting on a dazzling display in front of the road crowd. Klay Thompson played solid defense, but Harden simply made difficult shots.

Despite Harden's heroics, the Warriors made the last run.

With the score tied at 97-97 late in the fourth quarter, Golden State went on an 11-0 spurt to take a 108-97 lead with under two minutes to go.

The Rockets would rip off nine straight points to trim the lead to two with 14.6 seconds remaining, but it wasn't enough.

Trevor Ariza scored 20 points for Houston.

Both teams shot 47 percent from the floor.

Game 2 is at Oracle Arena on Thursday night. Catch all of the action at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
